Woman charged with assault, indecency after car confrontation

Diana J. Ruiz, 42, of the 2700 block of South Christiana Avenue, was charged with assault and public indecency after police responded to a disturbance at 4:40 p.m. June 14 in the 6200 block of South Sacramento Avenue.

A 31-year-old woman called police from her vehicle and reported that Ruiz was banging on her window and demanding she exit. The woman said Ruiz also exposed her breasts to her 17-year-old son, who was in the car.

Man arrested after displaying knife on CTA bus

Luis S. Izaguirre, 46, of the 7200 block of South Albany Avenue, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after police responded to a report of a man with a knife at 5:48 p.m. June 11 in the 6400 block of South Kedzie Avenue.

A 28-year-old woman reported that Izaguirre displayed a knife while walking toward her on a CTA bus, causing her to fear for her safety. Police stopped him on the street, and the victim identified him. A knife was found in his bag.

Man charged with theft of beer cooler

Jesus Antonio Rivera Grimaldo, 41, of the 6500 block of South California Avenue, was charged with theft after police found him in an alley behind his home in a black pickup truck.

Police said Grimaldo matched the description of a man who had stolen a white cooler containing three cases of beer from a nearby yard.

Man charged with domestic battery after party dispute

Justin J. Winkler, 41, of the 5400 block of South Sayre Avenue, was charged with domestic battery at 7:28 p.m. June 14 in the 5300 block of South Natoma Avenue.

A 42-year-old woman told police that Winkler arrived at her home intoxicated after being ejected from a backyard party they both attended. He blamed her for the incident and struck her several times in the face.

Man charged after stolen vehicle crash

Jose Almendares, 27, of the 4200 block of South Francisco Avenue, was charged with possession of stolen property following a traffic crash at 8:14 p.m. June 14 in the 6000 block of West 63rd Street.

The vehicle owner said Almendares stole the car from a parking lot in the 6200 block of South Austin Avenue following a physical altercation shortly before the crash. Almendares was also charged with battery, two counts of resisting arrest and criminal damage to property. Police determined he had two outstanding Cook County warrants for a parole violation and bond forfeiture.

Man arrested as part of railroad burglary investigation

Andre Hill, 34, of the 100 block of East 107th Street, faces three counts each of burglary and criminal trespassing after his arrest at 8:37 a.m. June 12 in the 4000 block of West 59th Street.

Police charged Hill in connection with a long-term investigation by the Chicago Police Department and Norfolk & Southern Railroad police. Authorities identified him as a member of an organized burglary crew. Hill allegedly participated in a burglary of railroad shipping containers in the 8500 block of South Stewart Avenue earlier that morning and was caught breaking into other containers on railroad property on 59th Street.

Man charged with domestic battery after witness report

Michael J. Principe, 28, of the 6200 block of South Park Avenue, was charged with domestic battery after police responded to a 911 call at 12:29 a.m. June 13 in the 5600 block of West 62nd Street.

A witness reported seeing Principe striking a 27-year-old woman several times while they were in a vehicle. After Principe was detained, the woman said he had punched and choked her.

Woman arrested for domestic battery causing black eye

Stephanie Padilla, 21, of the 2300 block of West 24th Place, was charged with domestic battery after police responded to a disturbance at 4 a.m. June 11 in the 7100 block of South Albany Avenue.

She allegedly struck a 24-year-old man several times in the face, causing a black eye. He refused to sign a complaint, but responding officers filed one on his behalf because of the severity of his injuries.
