Man with warrants caught stealing beer
Manuel Rivera was charged with retail theft at 12:24 a.m. July 8 at Walgreens, 3943 W. 47th St. Police said Rivera was stopped with beer worth $42 that he had taken from the store. He was wanted on three outstanding warrants and repeatedly gave his name as “John Doe.” Police eventually identified him through fingerprints.

Lino S. Rainey, 38, was charged with possession of a controlled substance after police stopped and questioned him at 9:42 p.m. July 7 in the 2200 block of West 63rd Street. Police said he was carrying a small quantity of cocaine. Rainey is from the 2900 block of West 98th Street.
