Yet another Mother’s Day is upon us. I wish everyone a happy day. By everyone I do mean everyone. There are a lot of dads who do it alone, along with important mother figures. For our mothers in heaven, they will always be in our hearts.
Did you know that the Archer Heights community is being served by the latest fire department equipment available? Over the past year, a new Engine 34 was placed in service. Ambulance 21 also received a new vehicle replacing a seven-year-old ambulance. Tower Ladder 54 has a new apparatus.

Thank you to AHCA member John Marusarz and the Addiction Recovery Services members who picked up garbage along Cicero Avenue towards the Stevenson Expressway. The clean-up started on April 13, and I am sure it was no easy project. One can only hope the area will stay clean – but for how long?
With clean up in mind, gratitude goes out to the fourth and fifth graders of Sts. Bruno & Richard School. In celebrating Earth Day, the students rolled up their sleeves, picked up garbage and cleaned a local park.
The eighth-grade students of SBRS embarked on their field trip to Springfield. The Rosary Club students led an inspirational procession across the school campus. With each step they spread peace and prayers.
There are some interesting things going on at St. Turibius Parish for our youth. There will be youth group meetings on Saturdays starting in the church. The meetings begin at 7 p.m. and will include music, food, games and social time.
For children ages 6-9 there will be Bible camp at St. Turibius Church. This starts on June 11 and runs until June 28. The camp is from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Tuesday through Friday. Registration is $200. Please log into Turibius.org.
