Police have issued a community alert in the wake of three armed robberies earlier this month.
Each occurred on the street and involved bandits walking up to victims and demanding valuables.
Crime scenes include:
• 4800 block of South Kostner at 5:35 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 5.
• 6100 block of South Kedzie at 10:15 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 6.
• 5400 block of South Lawndale at 10:33 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 6.
Descriptions of the robbers varied, from a black man to a black woman age 30-35, 5-foot-8 and 175 pounds, to two Hispanic men age 24-27, 5-foot-7 and 175 pounds with a tattoo on one of their faces.
