A ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Multispecialty Clinic at Holy Cross Hospital took place on Wednesday, Oct. 28. Located adjacent to the hospital’s newly renovated south lobby, the clinic brings multiple specialty services together in one centralized location, creating a more seamless patient experience.
Beginning Monday, Nov. 2, patients have access to cardiology, including same-day echocardiograms, hematology and oncology care, infusion services, and patient financial counseling in the new clinic. The hospital has future plans to include rheumatology and orthopedics to the clinic as well.
“Our goal is to make navigating health care simpler for patients and families,” said Dr. Jeen Soo Chang, president and chief medical officer of Holy Cross Hospital.
Present for the celebration, which also included a tour of the new clinic, were hospital leaders, community partners, elected officials, donors and neighborhood stakeholders.
Also attending the event were several members of the Sisters of St. Casimir. When the hospital opened in 1928, the SSC community staffed and managed Holy Cross. SSCs served as doctors, nurses and administrators, running the hospital for over 80 years.
In 2013, Holy Cross joined Sinai Health System. Sinai’s mission statement “Be Stronger, Care Harder, Love Deeper” compliments the guiding legacy of Venerable Mother Maria Kaupas, foundress of the SSCs, “Always More, Always Better, Always with Love.”
“The new south lobby creates a bright welcoming entry point for patients and families and then the Multispecialty Clinic makes it easier for patients to get all of the high specialty care all in one place,” said Dr. Ngozi Ezike, president and CEO of Sinai Chicago. “And so, we think that by bringing these services together we are making it just a little bit easier for our patients to access the care that they need.”
“But beyond the space being beautiful, it’s really what the space actually represents,” she added. “And that is our continued investment for the people that matter most, the people of this community.”
