Jeremiah Anthony (Jerry) Sullivan

Jeremiah Anthony (Jerry) Sullivan, 93, a native of Kenmare, County Kerry, Ireland, passed away. He was the beloved husband of Margaret (Marge) Agnes (née Gill).

Mr. Sullivan was a devoted and very proud father to Margaret (Daniel) Boomsma, Jeremiah (Molly) Sullivan, and Michael (Kathleen) Sullivan.

He was a cherished grandfather to Brandon (Margaret) Boomsma, Margaret (Samuel) Shanahan, William, Macy, and the late Michael Sullivan. He was a great-grandfather to Tade, Winnie, and Ronan.

Mr. Sullivan was born in Kenmare, County Kerry, Ireland, to Bridget (née Mahony) Sullivan and Patrick Sullivan. At age 20 in May 1954, he left Ireland and set sail aboard the SS America to the Port of New York. After arriving in the United States, he traveled to Minneapolis, then to Chicago, where he met his wife and built a life together spanning more than 63 years.

He was a proud union member of Teamsters Local 710 and the Kerry County Council, and an avid Chicago White Sox fan. He was hardworking, resourceful, and dependable, with a remarkable ability to solve almost anything. He will be remembered for his generosity, strength, and caring heart.

He was preceded in death by his siblings: Michael (late Brigid), Cornelius (late Mary), Patrick, Joan (late John) Gavin, Timothy (Joan), John (late Elizabeth), Stephen (Teresa); and his siblings-in-law Michael J. Gill and John P. Gill.

He is survived by his siblings Brendan (Gretta and the late Maureen), Bridget (late Patrick) Garvey, Gerald (Phyllis), and Sheila (late John) Pigott. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Maria (Patrick) Whyte and more than 40 nieces and nephews located around the world.
