If you’re a Bears fan willing to sweat through winter gear in a Chicago heat wave, the makers of “Holiday Touchdown: A Bears Love Story” want you.

Hallmark Media, the NFL, and Skydance Sports are casting extras for the film, which will shoot July 7 and 8 at undisclosed locations said to include Soldier Field. (It’s unclear whether Hammond and Arlington Heights are involved.)

To audition, you’ll need an Entertainment Partners casting profile through 4 Star Casting. Visit www.4starcasting.com, click “log into the EP casting portal,” or call 855-476-0612.

The movie will air in December as part of Hallmark Channel’s 17th annual “Countdown to Christmas.”

Who they’re looking for

Producers want football fans 18 and older. Bears gear is a plus—vintage 1960s, ’70s, or Super Bowl-era items are “a double bonus.” They’re also seeking:

• A blonde woman, 5-foot-4, weighing 120 pounds, between her mid-20s and mid-50s.

• Anyone with a “golden retriever-type dog” that obeys basic commands.

• Bears-themed tailgating items: grills, tents, tables, games, and decorated vehicles.

The catch

You’ll wear winter attire while filming in July heat. The production will provide water and cooling tents, but expect to sweat. Think of it as a late-season game on the lakefront.

Why this matters

Head Coach Ben Johnson and tight end Colston Loveland announced the project in a video on the Bears website. Johnson said he and his wife Jessica “will definitely be tuning in for this one”—though fans might hope he’s too busy with playoff preparation to actually watch.

This is the third consecutive year Hallmark has made an NFL Christmas movie. The 2024 Kansas City Chiefs film featured cameos from Coach Andy Reid and Travis Kelce’s mother, Donna Kelce. Last year’s Buffalo Bills movie included coaches, players, and longtime fans.

The Bears cast will be announced later.
