Man gets three tickets after traffic stop
A 20-year-old man received three tickets after a traffic stop at 1:24 p.m. May 1, police said.
An officer saw the man’s blue 2005 Nissan lacked a front license plate while driving south in the 8000 block of Archer Avenue, police said.
The man was pulled over in the 8300 block and charged with failure to display registration, driving on a suspended license, and driving on a registration suspended for non-insurance, police said.
Woman’s credit card used fraudulently in San Diego
An 84-year-old woman discovered her credit card had been used for two large purchases in San Diego on April 29, when she attempted to use it at a grocery store, police said.
One purchase was for $880 at a Walmart and another for $900 at a Home Depot, police said.
Days later, the credit card company informed her that someone had requested the credit card limit be raised to $7,000 to obtain a $6,000 advance, police said.
Police are investigating.
No taillights lead to three tickets for woman
A 29-year-old woman received three tickets after police saw her black 2012 Toyota RAV4 driving without taillights at 3:09 a.m. May 2 at Archer Avenue and Willow Lane, police said.
She was charged with driving without taillights, driving without a license (never issued), and driving without insurance, police said.
Speeding driver arrested on warrant
An officer on patrol clocked a gray 2025 Nissan doing 55 miles per hour in a 35-mph zone on Archer Avenue at 7:25 p.m. May 8 and pulled it over at Market Street, police said.
The 19-year-old driver was charged with speeding and arrested on a warrant from DuPage County, police said.
Man charged with speeding and driving on suspended license
A 33-year-old man was charged with speeding after his white 2009 Chevrolet was clocked doing 64 miles per hour in a 35-mph zone in the 8000 block of Archer Avenue at 10:10 p.m. May 8, police said.
He was charged with speeding 26 to 34 miles over the limit and driving on a suspended license, police said.
Report of intoxicated driver leads to arrest
Police pulled over a vehicle in the 8300 block of Archer Avenue at 3:45 p.m. May 11 after receiving a report of an apparently intoxicated driver, police said.
The driver had glassy eyes and a strong odor of alcohol, police said. When asked if he had been drinking, the man replied, “Not enough to warrant a stop.” He later said he had consumed one tequila beverage more than 45 minutes before being pulled over, police said.
The 51-year-old man failed field sobriety tests, police said.
During the investigation, an officer found a glass pipe commonly used for smoking cannabis in the man’s pocket, police said.
He has been charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of cannabis, driving without insurance, and driving on a registration suspended for non-insurance, police said.
