Unruly teens threaten resident
Six to seven boys, ages 15 to 17, threatened a 45-year-old woman in the 6700 block of Willow Boulevard around 12:15 p.m. April 24, police said.
The woman saw the youths riding two dirt bikes, two electric bicycles and two mountain bikes through the parking lot and building grounds. She asked them to stay off the grass and out of the lot.
The boys shouted derisive insults and gave her an obscene hand gesture. One boy yelled: “You don’t know who you are [expletive] with. We will come back here and shoot you.”
No arrests were made. The youths fled before police arrived.
Package stolen
A package that contained items worth $189 was stolen from outside a residential building in the 8000 block of Archer on April 8, police said.
A 32-year-old woman reported the theft on April 24. She said she received a delivery notification at 7:07 a.m. on April 8. When she tried to retrieve it at 8 a.m., the package was gone.
Graffiti found on railroad bridge
Graffiti was found at 9:12 a.m. April 25 on the south side of the BNSF railroad bridge in the 8400 block of Willow Springs Road, police said. Police have no idea when the graffiti was painted.
Ignoring sign leads to four charges
A 32-year-old woman was charged with four violations, including drunken driving, after police stopped her for driving around a “road closed” sign in the 9100 block of Archer at 4:09 a.m. April 26, police said.
An officer pulled her over and detected a strong odor of alcohol. He asked if she had been drinking. “I have, but I’m OK,” she replied.
The woman failed field sobriety tests and was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving on a revoked license, disregarding a traffic control device, and driving without insurance, police said.
She had a previous conviction for driving under the influence of alcohol.
Driver arrested for doing doughnuts
A 20-year-old man was charged with reckless driving after police responded to a report of a car doing doughnuts in the Metra parking lot, police said.
When officers arrived at 11:09 p.m. April 28, they saw a black 2012 Infiniti driving in circles with the brakes locked. The tires smoked and left marks on the asphalt.
The driver admitted to doing doughnuts and said he had “left a little bit more marks than the ones before.”
He was also charged with damage to property and driving without insurance, police said.
Speeding, no license
A 51-year-old man, name and town not released, was clocked on radar doing 80 miles per hour in a 45-mph zone in the 7600 block of La Grange Road and pulled over at Archer and La Grange at 1:54 p.m. April 17, police said.
The driver told police he was aware he was speeding as he was trying to pass another vehicle, police said.
The man was charged with speeding 35 miles per hour over the limit, driving without a license/none issued, driving on a suspended license and improper lane usage/failure to signal, police said.
Warrant arrest
A 20-year-old woman, name and town not released, was arrested on a Kane County Sheriff’s warrant at 3:30 p.m. April 20 at La Grange Road and Archer Avenue, police said.
An officer dispatched there for a motorist who needed direction did a background check and found the woman was wanted on a warrant and she was transported to the Kane County Jail in St. Charles, police said. The warrant was for traffic offenses, police said.
Identity theft
A 68-year-old woman told police that her credit card had been used to make a purchase at a Sam’s Club in Arizona for a Sony Playstation Portal worth $249, police said.
Domestic dispute
A 69-year-old woman in the 8700 block of Archer called police at 8:47 p.m. April 20 and said she wanted her boyfriend, 73, removed from the residence after an argument, police said. The man left and there were no charges filed, police said.
Possible theft
An 88-year-old woman in the 11000 block of 80th Place told police at 10:29 a.m. April 21 a debit card and some costume jewelry was missing from her home and that she suspected two people who had been there over the past few weeks.
No charges have been filed, police said. The two work for a company that provides in-home care for seniors.
No license
A 26-year-old man, name and town not released, driving a blue 2002 Saturn was pulled over in the 9000 block of Archer Avenue at 7:44 p.m. April 22 after he drove around a sign that said “road closed, local traffic only,” police said.
The man was charged with driving without a license and disregarding a traffic control device, police said. He was given a May 14 court date in Bridgeview.
Warrant arrest
A 42-year-old woman — who told police she planned to walk to Wisconsin because her car had been towed from Bridgeview — wound up being arrested at 79th Street and Fairway Drive at 4:24 p.m. April 24, police said.
A background check found the woman was wanted on a warrant in Pontoon Beach, police said. She was transported to the Justice Police Department to await extradition to Pontoon Beach, a village about 10 miles northeast of St. Louis.
