After the NASCAR race was approved for Chicago, the traditional Taste of Chicago at Grant Park was changed from the Fourth of July to a weekend in September.
Each year since then, the city has held three Taste of Chicago Pop-Up events in three neighborhood parks. The Marquette Park event was held on June 28, another in Pullman will be in July and then one in Albany Park in August.
At Marquette Park, the event was held on the southeast corner of the park with food booths set up along one side of the horseshoe and food trucks lined up on the other side.
In addition to plenty of food, the event featured live music, dance performances, free dance lessons, community information booths and a large area for kid’s games, art booths, and Flag Feast.

Flag Feast is a public art project from the Design Museum of Chicago and the flags will be popping up at festivals throughout the year. Flags lined the horseshoe area all designed by artists across Chicago.
