It is beginning to look a lot like Christmas, everywhere me and Oliver go! Thank you, neighbors. The blocks around my home are simply beautiful with the displays.

To get yourselves more in the Christmas spirit, enjoy breakfast with Santa. There will be a breakfast and craft show at Sts. Bruno and Richard Church (east campus, 4839 S. Harding) on Sunday, Dec. 17 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. I am not sure of the price, so I suggest calling the school office at (773) 582-8083.

The students of Sts. Bruno and Richard are in a festive spirit. They all enjoyed a Thanksgiving feast and are now decorating the school. Homemade ornaments and carols can be heard and seen.

After breakfast on Dec. 17, head over to the West Lawn Branch Library, 4020 W. 63rd St. Starting at 2 p.m. there will be a performance by Chris White of music from A Charlie Brown Christmas. The special treat will be the Hubbard High School Choir. Please register at chicagoartopia.org.

I always enjoy receiving the Archer Heights Civic Association Newsletter. This December issue had some interesting statistics about the Archer and Kostner intersection. Now I have a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, but it has been about 10 years since I used my actuarial skills. There is a chart that I am still trying to figure out, even the physicist (husband) didn’t quite get it. But the bottom line is there are some cars going through that intersection at over 50mph. That is dangerous. So, thank you to 23rd Ward Ald. Silvana Tabares and the AHCA for trying to make it a safer corner.

The newsletter also had a blurb about calling 911. If you see a crime, but are not the victim, you can call with anonymity. Just indicate that you want to remain anonymous. None of your private information will be made public to the dispatcher or police personnel.

Birthday wishes go out to my dog Ollie’s mother-in-law Linda Marr. She is the mom of Sadie the doodle, Oliver’s girlfriend. Happy birthday also to my first boyfriend, Larry Russo. And the best birthday wishes go out to Sister Mary Beth from St. Turibius Parish.
