Who let the dogs out? Who, who, who let the dogs out?
Twenty-third Ward Ald. Silvana Tabares let the dogs in, at her office on 63rd Street. Our Oliver was one of the first to enter, along with the lovely Roxy.
The celebration was for a pet tag give away and some awfully good treats. The tag is quite impressive. You have to put the application on your phone and enter all your pet’s information and when he/she wears it, if lost all is needed is a quick scan.
But our Ollie has a chip on his shoulder (oops I mean in his head) as well. Thank you, Alderman.
While there we had the pleasure to meet Jason Huff. I knew he was on the ballot last February but it was great to put a face to a name. He is the Chicago Lawn (8th) Police District Council member for the Community Commission for Public Safety and Accountability. Their goal is to solve problems, increase accountability and work on public safety.
The next public meeting will be held on Dec. 6 at the Clearing Branch Library, 6423 W. 63rd Place, starting at 6 p.m.
But before you go to the meeting, remember to hang your sock up or put your shoes out for St. Nick’s Day on the evening of Dec. 5. This time is going crazy, Thanksgiving over and next Christmas.
Also, thinking of all faiths, Happy Hanukkah staring on this Thursday, the 7th. And Our Lady Of Guadalupe will have her day soon, for the next week.
The ladies of the St. Richard CCW are holding a coat drive. New or gently used coats can be donated at both churches (St. Bruno and St. Richard) now through Dec. 31. Last year I donated all my used coats to the alderman’s drive. All these coats will be used to help member of our community.
Happy Birthday to Dr. Robert Berkshire, my eye doctor on 79th Street. Another Happy Birthday to Mike Loye (maybe see you at the bowling alley, buy me a beer).
One last bit of information, the 311 Chicago app really works. The garage that was completely painted over with graffiti now looks like brand new. The crew was out by Monday morning. Thank you!
