Keys and phone found
An officer found a set of keys in the street in the 8100 block of South Willow Springs Road at 11:46 a.m. Aug. 21.The same officer found a heavily damaged black iPhone in the middle of La Grange Road at 11:50 a.m. Aug. 21.
The keys and phone are at the police station.
Hit-and-run accident
An officer was sent to a parking lot in the 8600 block of Archer Avenue at 10:38 p.m. Aug. 21 for a hit-and-run accident.
The owner of a silver 2022 Mitsubishi, a 24-year-old woman, told the officer she watched a black car hit her parked vehicle. The other vehicle fled.
Leaf blower found
An officer on patrol found a Stihl gas-powered leaf blower in the street in the 11900 block of Winding Trail Drive at 10:54 a.m. Aug. 22. It is at the police station.
91 mph on La Grange Road
A 24-year-old man was arrested and charged with aggravated speeding after radar clocked him doing 91 miles per hour in a 45-mph zone.
He was driving his white 2008 BMW on northbound La Grange Road, north of Archer Avenue, at 7:37 p.m. Aug. 22. He slowed down after he saw the officer and was pulled over.
Domestic battery, resisting an officer
A 40-year-old man was arrested after a domestic disturbance at 2:17 a.m. Aug. 23 in the 200 block of Spring Street.
Police were called because neighbors heard yelling.
The man was charged with two counts of domestic battery and one count of resisting a peace officer. Police said alcohol was involved.
Crash results in ticket
A 30-year-old man was charged with failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident after his car rear-ended another at Archer Avenue and Willow Springs Road at 6:39 p.m. Aug. 24.
The man told police he mistook the gas pedal for the brake pedal, causing the collision.
Racial slurs shouted at passing cars
An officer on patrol responded to a possible disturbance at 11:59 p.m. Aug. 28 in a parking lot in the 8600 block of Archer Avenue. Another officer assisted.
Employees of the Ashbury Coffee House told police they asked a group to leave after hearing them yell racial slurs at passing vehicles. The group left.
Firearm magazine recovered
An apartment complex employee reported finding a magazine with 15 live 9mm hollow-point rounds in a building lobby in the 8900 block of Willow Glen Drive at 10:33 a.m. Aug. 29.
Box truck stolen
The owner of a 2009 International box truck valued at $35,000 reported it stolen at 11:53 a.m. Aug. 30.
The truck had been parked since Aug. 6 in the truck lot in the 7600 block of South La Grange Road.
The last known location, using a tracking device, was in McCook on Aug. 20. The tracking device has not been active since then. McCook police did not find the truck there.
104 mph on La Grange Road
A 22-year-old man driving a black 2022 BMW was doing 104 miles per hour in a 45-mph zone in the 7600 block of La Grange Road at 1:55 a.m. Aug. 31.
He was pulled over about two blocks later.
The man was charged with aggravated speeding, driving without insurance, and transportation of open alcohol by a driver.
License plate gone
A 59-year-old man in the 8400 block of Archer Avenue learned from I-Pass that his front license plate had been stolen or had fallen off.
The man received an email from I-Pass on Aug. 30 regarding five unpaid tolls in the past month for his gray 2015 Honda Civic. He checked his car and found the plate was gone.
Residents cited for no fences around pools
A resident in the 200 block of East Rust Trail was cited in violation of a village ordinance on Aug. 31 for failing to have a fence around the pool in the backyard.
A resident in the 100 block of Mound Street received the same citation on Sept. 1 for the same reason.
Resident reports lost wallet
A 62-year-old resident of the 11700 block of Winding Trail Drive reported a lost wallet on Sept. 1.
The wallet contained a driver’s license, four credit cards, and a bank debit card.
The resident told police they had searched their house and car with no luck.
