Hit-and-run in Jewel lot
A woman reported that her parked vehicle was damaged while she was shopping at Jewel, 5545 S. Brainard Ave., at 11:19 a.m. on Sept. 4.
The rear passenger side of her vehicle sustained damage, with white paint transfer on the damaged area.
Forged check cashed at credit union
A man cashed a $3,549 check at Numark Credit Union, 9809 W. 55th St., on July 1. The bank learned on Sept. 4 that the check was fraudulent and that similar checks had been passed at other banks.
Threatening text messages at Home Depot
Two employees at Home Depot, 140 Countryside Plaza, reported receiving threatening and alarming text messages while at work on Sept. 3 and Sept. 4.
Identity theft reported
A resident in the 6600 block of Natasha Court reported on Sept. 4 that an unknown person opened an AT&T account in Houston using the victim’s personal identifying information.
Hit-and-run at fitness center
The owner of a vehicle parked outside CFX Fitness, 9825 W. 55th St., reported it was struck on Sept. 5 while they were inside the business. The front driver’s side sustained damage.
Two charged with retail theft
A 52-year-old woman and a 32-year-old man were charged with retail theft after they stole items worth $201.78 from TJ Maxx, 5555 S. Brainard Ave., at 6:43 p.m. on Sept. 6.
Loss prevention employees in the store apprehended them and detained them until police arrived. Police did not release their names.
Hit-and-run on La Grange Road
A motorist reported that their car was rear-ended by another vehicle on La Grange Road at 57th Street at 5:37 p.m. on Sept. 9.
The offending vehicle fled west on 57th Street. The victim photographed the vehicle and driver before it fled and provided the photo to police.
Angry motorist threatens construction workers
An angry motorist exited his vehicle and threatened construction workers at La Grange Road and 55th Street at 1:33 p.m. on Sept. 11.
As he left the area, he swerved his vehicle toward a member of the construction crew. The construction workers told police they will decline to press charges if the offender is identified.
