JoAnn Kostecki

JoAnn Kostecki (née Mareska), 77, of Orland Park, Illinois, passed away Sept. 2, 2026. She was born March 21, 1949, in Chicago.

JoAnn was known for her kindness, strength, and devotion to her family. She brought warmth and joy to those around her.

She worked as an office manager, where she was respected for her intelligence, organization, and dedication.

A devoted Catholic, JoAnn’s faith provided her with strength and guidance throughout her life.

She was the beloved wife of Richard “Buzz” Kostecki and a devoted mother to Eric (Lindsay) Kostecki and Adam (Nicole) Kostecki. She was a proud grandmother to Ella (Matt) Hendrix, Jenna Kostecki, Isabel Kostecki, Ava Kostecki, and Katherine Kostecki. She was also a great-grandmother to Sutton and Cooper Hendrix.

JoAnn enjoyed cooking, baking, playing dice, and creating ceramics. She found happiness in these simple pleasures and loved sharing them with family and friends.

She was a beloved friend, cousin, and aunt to many. Her caring nature, generous spirit, and unwavering support touched countless lives.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Frances Mareska, and her brother, Ken Mareska.

She will be remembered as a caring, intelligent, and spirited woman whose love, faith, and dedication to family leave a lasting legacy.

Visitation and Celebration of Life: Saturday, Sept. 12, 2026, 3 to 7 p.m. at Damar-Kaminski Funeral Home & Crematorium, 7861 S. 88th Avenue, Justice, Illinois. Memorial Service at 5 p.m.

Cremation rites have been accorded.
