The Countryside City Council approved several police expenditures at its latest meeting.

The council on Sept. 9 waived the formal bidding process for the purchase of a Dodge Durango from Jack Phelan Dodge for $43,220, which includes a trade-in credit for a 2020 Ford Police Interceptor.

The council also waived formal bidding to buy and install emergency equipment on the new police vehicle from MPC Communications for $21,947.66.

In a separate action, the council approved the purchase of two speed radar signs from All Traffic Solutions for $10,037.32. They will be used as needed around the city.

The city council’s next meeting is scheduled for Sept. 23.
