For the first time since Week 1, Goode was back on the football field for a game on Sept. 12.

Aedan Cleveland ran seven times for 133 yards and three touchdowns as the Knights cruised past visiting Hyde Park 56-8.

“We’ve still got to clean up some,” Goode coach Terrrence McClarn said. “Still shaking off the rust.”

After beating Comer to open the season, the Knights (2-1, 1-0 Public League Red Southwest) forfeited to TF North in Week 2 and then weren’t able to play Orr as hot weather played havoc with the Public League schedule in Week 3.

“I’m used to crazy things happening,” McClarn said. “We worry about what we can control.”

Jordan Boston ran 14 times for 83 yards and a TD and also threw a 38-yard scoring pass to Dorrell Ries against Hyde Park.

Caron Williams added five carries for 83 yards and a touchdown, while Joshua Gandy contributed a score as well.

“Our offense gave up a score (on a fumble and a scoop and score),” McClarn said. “If we can take care of the ball, I’d be more satisfied.”

Williams had a solid all-around game with a sack, a forced fumble, three tackles and three pancake blocks.

Other contributors included Ryan Ogburn with four pancake blocks and a tackle, Savion Scott with three pancake blocks and Thomas Davis with two sacks and a forced fumble.

Bogan 24, Bowen 16: Xavier Terrell ran for two touchdowns and threw TD passes of 70 yards to Jaylen Brown and 55 yards to Keontay Rodgers as Bogan (1-3, 1-0 Public League White South) won on Sept. 10 at Stagg Stadium. Terrell finished with more than 230 total yards. CJ Stiger had an interception and Keyon Smith-George had a forced fumble and a fumble recovery to lead the Bengals’ defense.

DuSable 22, Back of the Yards 8: Will Martinez had a 50-yard TD run for Back of the Yards (1-3, 0-1 Public League Blue South) at Lane on Sept. 12.

Taylor Finley (55-yard fumble return) and Kameron Mosley (16-yard run) provided the other points for the Meteors.
