Orland Park residents are invited to honor, remember and reflect on Patriot Day during an evening of live music and commemoration Friday, Sept. 11, at Centennial Park West, 15609 Park Station Blvd.
The free event will run from 5 to 8 p.m. and will bring friends, families and neighbors together to remember those who lost their lives on Sept. 11, 2001, honor the heroes who responded and recognize the resilience and unity that followed the tragedy.
The Nuclear Jazz Quarktet will perform from 5 to 6 p.m., followed by the official Patriot Day commemoration ceremony from 6:30 to 7 p.m. The Southwest Community Concert Band will close out the evening with a concert from 7 to 8 p.m.
“Patriot Day is a time for us to pause, reflect and unite as a community,” Mayor Jim Dodge said. “We hope you will join us at Centennial Park West to pay tribute to the courageous heroes and families impacted by the events of 9/11 through music and togetherness.”
Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets for seating on the park grounds. Food and drinks will be available for purchase.
