Michael E. “Mike” Hubert, age 80, of Orland Park, Illinois, passed away on August 9, 2026, after a courageous battle with vasculitis.
Mike was born on July 28, 1946, in Gary, Indiana. He graduated from Thornton Fractional North High School in Calumet City, Illinois, before studying architecture at the University of Illinois.
A proud veteran, Mike served in the United States Army and was a Vietnam veteran. He went on to work as a talented architectural draftsman, using his natural creativity and hands-on ability to help bring ideas to life. Those who knew Mike appreciated not only his skill but also the care and precision he brought to his work.
Outside of work, Mike was a lifelong fan of the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears.
Mike is survived by his son, Shawn, and Shawn’s wife, Liz; his grandson, Carter; his sister, Mikki Hubert; his niece, Sally; and his nephew, Jeff and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lois and Ernie Hubert; his son, Ryan; and his nephew, Scott.
