Alleged thief caught when he returns to scene
Taurus D. Blossom, 51, of the 3900 block of West 83rd Place, was arrested and charged with robbery at 5 p.m. Aug. 2 in the 2400 block of West 63rd Street. Police said an employee at a store in the 6200 block of South Western Avenue recognized him as a suspect in a strong-armed robbery that occurred there on July 31. He ran from police but was taken into custody in an alley between Artesian and Western avenues.
Man charged with punching roommate
Bernard Chapman, 53, was charged with battery at his home in the 5300 block of South Pulaski Road at 8:46 a.m. July 30. Police said his 62-year-old male roommate told them Chapman punched him in the head during an argument.
Driver faces gun charge
Ricardo Robledo, 43, of the 7800 block of South Monitor Avenue in Burbank, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon following a road-rage incident at 9:09 p.m. July 29 in the 5900 block of South Kilpatrick Avenue. A 27-year-old motorist said Robledo was driving a Chevrolet Silverado when he pointed a green handgun at him while they were stopped at a traffic light. When Robledo was pulled over nearby, a handgun matching that description was found in his car.
Argument escalates to domestic battery
Sebastian Gryz, 42, of the 3000 block of North Narragansett Avenue, was charged with domestic battery following a disturbance at 1:45 a.m. Aug. 2 in the 6100 block of South Oak Park Avenue. Police said he allegedly hit a 43-year-old woman during an argument and caused facial bruising.
Knife-wielding man arrested
Louis Fasullo, 54, of the 9700 block of South Kedzie Avenue in Evergreen Park, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon following an incident at 5:58 a.m. July 31 in the 6800 block of West 63rd Street. A 69-year-old man told police that as he was pulling out of his driveway, Fasullo threatened him with a knife.
Intoxicated driver found with gun and drugs
Christian Hernandez, 27, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and other offenses following a traffic stop at 10:13 p.m. July 30 in the 6000 block of South Albany Avenue, where he lived. Police said they were patrolling an area known for gang conflicts when they noticed Hernandez driving down an alley. He showed signs of intoxication and was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after refusing to be tested. A search of the vehicle turned up a small amount of cocaine and a Glock handgun in the door panel. He was also charged with carrying a concealed weapon while under the influence of alcohol, illegal transportation of alcohol in a vehicle, driving without insurance and having an obstructed windshield.
Woman charged after making threats and throwing objects
Ami K. Bhatt, 45, of the 4100 block of Sumpter Drive in Matteson, was charged with two counts of assault and other offenses when police responded to a disturbance in a business at 5:38 p.m. July 30 in the 5900 block of South Kedzie Avenue. Police said Bhatt, who had an outstanding warrant, was charged after allegedly arguing with a 58-year-old woman and threatening to beat her. She fled on foot, but two responding officers said Bhatt threw a container with an unknown liquid at them when they caught up to her nearby. She was also charged with battery and resisting arrest.
Traveler arrested after airport disturbance
Christopher Stephen May, 29, of Moorpark, California, was charged with battery following an altercation with a security officer at Midway Airport at 11:02 p.m. July 27. Police said he was intoxicated and kicked an officer in the shoulder after being denied boarding on a plane.
