Linda Katherine (Marlette) Zarecki passed away peacefully at her home on August 4, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 22, 1943, in Chicago, Illinois.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Eugene Zarecki; her parents, Banks Marlette and Anna Marlette Berndt; and her brother, Donald Marlette.
She is survived by her devoted children, Darla, Frank (Chrissy), and Shawn (Bob); her five cherished grandchildren, Rebecca (Bobby), Megan (Kyle), Freddie (Brandon), Hunter, and Harlyn; and her three treasured great-grandchildren, Tyler, Sebastian, and Hope. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Diane (Paul), Nancy, and Emily; and her beloved nephew and nieces, Eddie, Donna, and Diane.
Linda brought immeasurable joy, laughter, and light into the lives of her family and friends. She had a lifelong love of Elvis Presley and rock and roll, and she never missed an opportunity to dance. She also enjoyed shopping and could happily spend hours playing board games and card games with family and friends. One of her greatest pleasures was sitting by a pond, watching the ducks and geese and singing to the Lord Jesus.
During the last 13 months of her life, Linda became an active member of the Naperville Senior Center, where she found friendship, laughter, and a true sense of community. She enthusiastically participated in games, crafts, and trivia, and her family quickly discovered just how competitive she could be — especially when it came to chair hockey, axe throwing, golf, bowling, and just about any other activity. The friendships she made and the joy she found there meant the world to her.
Honoring Linda’s wishes, no formal services will be held. Cremation rites have been accorded.
And, in only the way Linda could say it: “I’m off, like a dirty bra.”
Her family will miss her every day, but they will carry her laughter, her love, and her unforgettable spirit with them always.
