2026 outlook:
The Bulldogs returned to the postseason last year after a one-year absence and finished second to Glenbard East in the Upstate Eight East.
Goals this season include a conference title and a deep run in the Class 6A playoffs. R-B’s last postseason wins came in 2015 en route to a 6A quarterfinal berth.
Twelve starters return, highlighted by four all-conference selections: senior quarterback Braeden Novak (6-0, 185), senior receiver Nico Caputa (5-8, 165), senior offensive lineman Joaquin Jara (6-3, 280) and senior linebacker Bryan Rimpila (6-2, 225).
Other returning regulars include senior linebacker Anthony Lembcke (5-10, 200), senior defensive linemen Andrew Olivares (5-9, 270) and Miguel Arteaga (6-0, 230), junior offensive lineman Charlie Jicha (6-4, 280), senior defensive back Jayden Lee (5-10, 160), senior tight end Nick Baca (6-2, 220) and senior offensive linemen Daniel Amparan (6-0, 240) and Felix Sanchez (6-0, 230).
Some newcomers to watch include senior receiver Tim Giacomelli (6-0, 175), sophomore receiver James Organ (5-9, 165), junior defensive back Jaime Lopez (5-10, 160), sophomore defensive lineman Braeden Sloan (5-10, 235), senior linebacker Brandon Ruiz (5-10, 190), junior offensive lineman Lucas Olson (6-5, 230) and senior receiver/defensive back Will Rio (5-10, 170).
