Michael Agostino, 63, of Joliet, Illinois, passed away on Friday, July 31, 2026, after a brief hospital stay.
Michael was born on July 12, 1963, in Chicago, Illinois, to Ernest and Joan Agostino (Jurasek). He graduated with the Class of 1981 from Hempfield Senior High School in Greensburg, Pennsylvania. In 2001, he moved with his parents to Estero, Florida, to assist in caring for his elderly grandmother. He later became the primary caregiver for his parents as they aged, providing compassionate home health care in what he affectionately called “the old folks home” until their passing.
Michael enjoyed assembling and maintaining tropical fish aquariums and playing a variety of video games.
He is survived by his brother Mark Agostino of Orland Park, Illinois; his sister Michelle (Martin) Segraves of Killeen, Texas; his uncle Emil Agostino; and cousins Brian Agostino, Nicole Agostino of Pennsylvania, Jeff Steele of Alsip, Illinois, Scott Steele of Michigan City, Indiana, and Christopher Steele of Florida. He is also survived by nieces and nephews Elliot Segraves of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Christopher Segraves of Killeen, Texas; Jessica (Mike) Glazier of Plano, Texas; Elizabeth (Frank) Molina of El Paso, Texas; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents; several aunts and uncles; and his nephew, Daniel Segraves of Killeen, Texas.
Michael’s final act of kindness was giving the gift of life through organ and tissue donation with The Gift of Hope.
Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Michael’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association, the American Cancer Society, the Muscular Dystrophy Association, or the charity of your choice.
