Man charged with battery at Midway
Zackery Johnathen Whitfield, 29, of Princeton, North Carolina, was charged with battery following an altercation at Midway Airport on July 19.
Police said Whitfield struck a 45-year-old man in the face at 12:50 p.m. at 5107 S. Cicero Ave., causing bruising.
Man arrested for threatening neighbor
Reggie Cooper, 58, of the 6900 block of South Claremont Avenue, was arrested and charged with assault on July 13.
Police said Cooper raised his hand toward a 43-year-old female neighbor and threatened to slap her at 8:06 p.m. after she blamed him for letting her dog loose.
Cooper was also charged with resisting arrest for attempting to flee from police during custody.
Four assaulted following traffic crash
Clifford Ray, 46, of the 6400 block of South Mozart Street, was charged with four counts of assault following a traffic crash on July 17.
Police said Ray assaulted four people involved in the crash at 12:10 a.m. in the 6600 block of South Francisco Avenue. The victims included two men, ages 39 and 44, and a man and woman, both 32.
Witnesses said Ray yelled at them, acted irrationally, and threatened to “come back and shoot them.” He was arrested at the scene and also charged with resisting arrest.
Fugitive arrested in February fatal crash
Daron Anton Lipscomb, 31, of the 3600 block of West 63rd Street, was arrested by the Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force on July 13 and faces numerous felony charges related to a fatal car crash in February.
Police said Lipscomb fled after crashing into another vehicle on Feb. 20 in the 3500 block of North Elston Avenue, killing a 25-year-old man. A 38-year-old man in the other vehicle suffered a fractured pelvis and head lacerations.
Lipscomb was arrested at 4:55 p.m. at a gas station in the 3000 block of West 63rd Street. He was charged with reckless homicide with a vehicle, two counts of leaving the scene of a fatal accident, failure to report an accident involving death and injury, and resisting arrest.
He is being held without bond in Cook County Jail.
Man charged with beating elderly neighbor
Corey Williams, 46, of the 2400 block of West 61st Street, was charged with aggravated battery of a person over 60 on July 13.
Police said Williams entered a neighbor’s apartment and beat the 64-year-old woman with a belt, causing bruises and welts on her legs. He was arrested in his apartment building at 5:25 p.m.
Williams was also charged with unlawful restraint for preventing the woman from leaving for more than an hour before police arrived.
Man charged after striking two people
Aaron L. Joliff-Bush, 24, of the 4200 block of West 76th Street, was charged with domestic battery on July 16 following a disturbance at his home.
Police said Joliff-Bush struck a 39-year-old woman at 1:33 a.m. following a verbal altercation. He was also charged with battery for hitting a 27-year-old man in the face when the man tried to break up the fight.
Woman charged with striking boyfriend
Rapekkah A. Scott, 38, of the 5400 block of West 26th Street, was charged with domestic battery on July 17.
Police responded to a disturbance at 11:53 p.m. in the 3900 block of West 63rd Street. Police said Scott, allegedly intoxicated, struck her 45-year-old boyfriend in the face during an argument.
Scott was also charged with resisting arrest for struggling with police as they handcuffed her.
Man charged with theft and reckless conduct
Isaac Aguilar, 33, of no known address, was charged with two counts of retail theft on July 15 at a strip mall in the 5500 block of South Kedzie Avenue.
Police said Aguilar took two cases of beer at 11:19 a.m. He was also charged with reckless conduct for igniting a piece of cardboard in an attempt to set fire to a display of merchandise when he was stopped.
