The Midway Chamber of Commerce is hosting the Patriots Day Parade, a long-standing community tradition that has brought residents, businesses, organizations, and families together for generations, said President Mary Ellen Brown.
The annual parade will kick off on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at 7 p.m. from Archer and Parkside, ending at Wentworth Park (5625 S. Mobile Ave., Chicago).
Geno Randazzo, owner of All Exterior Contractors and Midway Chamber of Commerce member, will serve as the Grand Marshal. Randazzo sponsors chamber-related events and repairs little free libraries throughout the Midway area, according to chamber social media administrator Tala Morales.

The parade was established in 1969 under Congressman William O. Lipinski and continued by his son Congressman Dan Lipinski in 2005. The chamber took over the parade in 2021, and it continues to serve as an early celebration of Independence Day and a tribute to the patriotic spirit that defines the community, said Brown.
This year’s parade holds special significance as the nation celebrates its 250th anniversary, and the Chamber is excited to expand the festivities.
“The Patriots Day Parade has always been about bringing our community together,” said Midway Chamber of Commerce President Mary Ellen Brown. “Our goal is to provide local businesses and organizations with an opportunity to showcase who they are, connect with residents, and demonstrate the important role they play in our community.”
The parade will begin with a special patriotic opening ceremony presented by the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), including the sounding of Taps and a military salute to honor those who have served the nation.
Following the parade, community members are invited to continue the celebration at Wentworth Park, where vendors, family activities, and a Movie in the Park event will take place. The movie will be Zootopia 2 and is scheduled from 8:30 p.m. to 9:45 p.m. Families can bring lawn chairs and blankets for the night under the stars.
Participation in the parade is open to all businesses, civic organizations, municipalities, schools, churches, and community groups, regardless of Chamber membership status. The Chamber encourages everyone to take part in this tradition and help make this year’s celebration one of the largest yet.
Parade registration is now open online. Community members are encouraged to register early and join the celebration as the area honors the nation’s heritage, supports local organizations, and creates lasting memories for families.
