Helen M. Frank, nee Syslo, passed away on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at 4:19 p.m. She was 105.
Helen was the loving wife of the late Joseph Frank and dear mother of Margaret (Michael) Lawrence of Las Vegas, Nevada. She was the cherished grandmother of Melissa and her husband, Marvin Stringer, and much-loved great-grandmother of Zach, Conner and Kayleigh Stringer. Helen was preceded in death by all of her eight siblings.
Helen lived in the Village of Summit for 52 years and was very active at St. Joseph Church. She was a member of the Resurrection Choir and Adult Choir, and a devoted member of St. Joseph Ladies of the Rosary. For the meetings, Helen took much pride in working in the kitchen to offer food and beverages for the members. She was also a member of St. Joseph Senior Citizens Club and AARP.
As she grew older, Helen moved to Elgin, Illinois, to be closer to her granddaughter, Melissa and her family. Helen enjoyed her time at Crescent Care of Elgin, where she developed a love of art and started painting with watercolors at the age of 99.
Helen will be entombed next to her husband at Resurrection Cemetery.
