Conference: Public League Red North

Head coach: Jarve Lewis-Bey

2025 record: 8-2 (Lost 56-8 to Homewood-Flossmoor in the first round of the Class 8A playoffs)

2026 outlook:

The Condors aim to continue their resurgence under third-year head coach Jarve Lewis-Bey after winning the Public League North last year to earn a spot in the new Red North.

Gone are some key two-sport athletes who also starred for Curie’s Public League champion and Class 4A sectional finalist basketball team, including Gabriel Taylor, Saquan Commings and Kendall Holliday.

Two football/basketball standouts do return in junior receiver/defensive back Dream Horton (6-2, 165) and junior running back/defensive back Malik Horton (5-11, 195). Dream Horton also is one of the city’s best return men with multiple kicks run back for touchdowns last season.

Other returning starters are senior two-way linemen Mateo Acuna (6-3, 290), Jose Murillo (6-1, 250) and Doumarier Tabb (6-3, 250); senior running back/defensive back Triston Burns (5-10, 160); senior tight end/linebacker Josiah Hogan (6-1, 205) and sophomore defensive back/quarterback Ivan Nevarez-Valadez (6-3, 250).

Also back are four juniors: receiver/defensive backs Harper Edwards (5-10, 160) and Donta Harris (5-10, 155) and running back/linebackers Santiago Valadez (6-0, 180) and Vincent Williams (5-10, 215).

Two newcomers should contribute: junior transfer JaQuan Thompson (6-3, 230), a two-way lineman, and freshman running back/linebacker Israel Barrow-Salazar (5-8, 180).
