Leszek Rabczak

Leszek Rabczak, who built a 20-year electronics repair business on the South Side while maintaining the practical skills and quiet dignity he brought from Poland, died June 2 in Dyer, Indiana. He was 68.

Rabczak was born May 31, 1958, in Bielsko-Biala, Poland. He earned a Master Craftsman Diploma in Electronic Equipment Repair there before immigrating to the United States. He worked as an electronics technician before opening Archer Electronics in Chicago, where he repaired equipment for customers and businesses throughout the region.

Those who knew him described a man of steady character — funny, practical, and generous with his time and knowledge. He had a gift for understanding how things worked and took pride in fixing them.

Outside of work, Mr. Rabczak enjoyed fishing, music, sunbathing, and following developments in science and technology. He was a Catholic whose faith was central to his life.

He is survived by his wife, Renata Rabczak; his sons, Tomek and Lukasz Rabczak; his sisters, Barbara Bursztynowicz and Urszula Żywiński; and his dog, Atos the Second.

A funeral Mass will be held Saturday, June 6, at 10 a.m. at Saint Faustina Kowalska Church, 5255 S. McVicker Ave., Chicago. Family and friends are asked to gather at the church at 9:45 a.m.

Interment will be at Resurrection Cemetery in Justice
