
Man charged with domestic battery for punching woman
Jonathan Ramirez, 37, was charged with domestic battery when police responded to a disturbance at his home in the 7700 block of South Karlov Avenue at 2:30 a.m. May 12. A 34-year-old woman said he argued with her, then punched her and pulled her hair before throwing her to the ground.

Felon found with gun and drugs
Robert W. Brown, 45, of the 6100 block of South California Avenue, faces multiple felony weapon and drug charges following his arrest at a gas station in the 2800 block of West 63rd Street at 10:20 p.m. May 12. Patrol officers noticed a strong smell of cannabis from the vehicle and arrested him after seeing drugs and a gun in plain view. He was charged with armed violence, felon in possession of a weapon, two counts of possession of a controlled substance, sale or manufacturing of methamphetamines, unlawful possession of cannabis in a vehicle, and obstructed windshield. Police found a loaded .45-caliber handgun in the center console, cocaine, and 22 packets of methamphetamines.

Man with outstanding warrants caught with drugs and knife
Juan V. Gonzalez, 36, of the 5900 block of South Sacramento Avenue, was arrested on two outstanding warrants at 8 p.m. May 12 in the 6400 block of South Kedzie Avenue. Patrol officers had prior knowledge he was in the area. When he saw them, he ran across Kedzie, nearly causing two traffic accidents. He was taken into custody for failure to appear in court on April 21. Gonzalez faces two counts each of reckless conduct for running into traffic and resisting arrest, plus charges of illegal possession of a blackjack knife, possession of cocaine, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Woman found with drugs in park
Letty Zuniga, 35, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of cannabis following her arrest at 8 p.m. May 12 in the 6800 block of South Kanst Drive in Marquette Park. Police investigated after noticing tinted license plate covers on her vehicle and discovered a pouch containing cocaine and a cannabis vape pen inside.

Felon caught with drugs and stolen gun
Julius W. Price, 31, of the 3000 block of West Marquette Road, was charged with possession of a stolen firearm following a traffic stop at 11:50 a.m. May 17 in the 6600 block of South Whipple Street. Police investigating an area known for drug sales found the handgun after stopping him for illegal use of a cellphone while driving. Price was also charged with being a felon with a weapon, possession of a laser sight or silencer, and two counts of possession of a controlled substance for cocaine and heroin.

Fugitive arrested for domestic battery
Sheri A. Hicks, 30, of the 5300 block of South Pulaski Road, was arrested on an outstanding warrant by the Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Taskforce at 9:33 a.m. May 13. She was charged with domestic battery and criminal damage to property in connection with an incident on April 21 in the 7000 block of South State Street involving a 58-year-old male victim. She allegedly struck the man several times in the face.

Wellness check leads to domestic battery charge
Gerardo Paz Cabrera, 32, was charged with domestic battery when police were asked to do a wellness check at his home in the 4400 block of West Marquette Road at 12:01 a.m. May 14. Police said he allegedly punched a 39-year-old woman in the nose, grabbed her by the hair, and pushed her to the ground when she tried to leave.

Man charged with domestic battery at home
William L. Harris, 43, was charged with assault and battery when police responded to a disturbance at 12:15 p.m. May 16 at his home in the 2900 block of West 56th Street. Police said he punched a 26-year-old man multiple times in the head and neck, causing lacerations and bruises.
