SeatGeek Stadium in Bridgeview will be awash in bubbles Saturday as it transforms into a massive, high-energy festival grounds to host back-to-back themed 5K events.

The day kicks off with a mountain of colorful suds for the daytime Bubble Run 5K, before seamlessly transitioning into a glowing, neon spectacle for the nighttime Foam Glow 5K.

The Daytime Bubble Run 5K

The excitement begins early in the morning as thousands of families, casual walkers, and avid runners gather on the pavement clad in crisp white T-shirts. The Bubble Run 5K is entirely untimed and non-competitive, focused purely on creating a vibrant, fun-filled experience for all ages.

  • The Foam Bogs: Every 3 to 5 minutes, waves of participants are released from the starting chute directly into massive, enclosed “Foam Bogs.” Each bog blasts out a different color of 100 percent safe, non-toxic colored foam, completely drenching runners from head to toe in frothy goodness.
  • The Schedule: Check-in opens at 7:30 a.m., and the official waves begin rolling out at 8 a.m.
  • The After-Party: Crossing the finish line leads directly into a massive plaza celebration featuring a live DJ, vendors, and giant foam cannons blasting extra bubbles over the dancing crowd.

The Nighttime Foam Glow 5K

As the sun sets over Bridgeview, the stadium grounds will undergo a total aesthetic transformation for the second major run of the day. The Foam Glow 5K shifts the family atmosphere into a high-octane, neon-drenched night event.

  • Blacklight Glow Stations: Starting at dusk, runners hit a course lined with specialized high-intensity blacklights. As they pass through various “Glow Stations,” they are sprayed with vibrant, UV-reactive glow foam and powder that radiates brilliantly under the dark sky.
  • The Schedule: The pre-race party kicks off at 6:30 p.m., allowing participants to get hyped up and covered in their initial layers of neon colors before the race begins.
  • The Blacklight After-Party: Organizers bill the finale as “the largest blacklight after-party on the planet,” featuring synchronized glow throws, heavy-hitting bass from a guest DJ, and a stadium parking lot turned into a glowing dance floor.

Essential Survivor Tips for the Weekend

With thousands of participants converging on the stadium for both events, veteran “foam runners” recommend a few critical logistical survival tactics:

  1. Beat the Lines: Due to massive crowd sizes, packet pickup is heavily encouraged on Friday, May 29, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the stadium to avoid a morning delay or a $5 race-day pickup fee.
  2. Pack the Essentials: Bring sunglasses to protect your eyes from the flying suds and towels or garbage bags to line your car seats for the drive home.
  3. Dress the Part: Wear white clothing to best display the vibrant colors of daytime foam and nighttime neon paint.
