Michael Edward Polinski, a teacher in Germany who was known for his kindness, curiosity and gift for connecting with young children, died April 16, 2026, in Germany. He was 33.
He was born November 17, 1992.
Polinski moved to Germany, where he built a life dedicated to teaching and caring for children. He had a natural gift for connecting with others and brought warmth and encouragement to those around him. He believed deeply in helping people feel happy, welcomed and valued.
He was known for his friendly heart, eagerness to learn and love of new experiences. He approached life with curiosity and enthusiasm, always seeking knowledge and meaningful connections. One of his greatest joys was cooking for others, bringing family and friends together through meals made with love.
He is survived by his parents, Danuta and Sławek Polinski; his siblings, Conrad and Sylvia Polinski; and many relatives and friends.
A visitation was held May 14 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Damar-Kaminski Funeral Home & Crematorium, 7861 S. 88th Avenue, Justice, Illinois. A funeral Mass was held May 15 at 10 a.m. at Our Mother of Good Counsel Church, 16043 S. Bell Road, Homer Glen, Illinois, with family and friends gathering at 9:45 a.m. He was buried at Resurrection Cemetery, Justice, Illinois.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests no floral arrangements.
