Overview:

Beecher, Manhattan, and Monee's Police Blotter contains charages for DUI, no valid license, accident with injuries, battery, arrest on ISP warrant.

BEECHER

On May 11, Jessie J. Clary, 34, of Highland, Indiana, was stopped for a moving violation. Further investigation determined Clary was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence, as well as having caused damage to a squad car. Clary was charged accordingly for the noted violations. A notice-to-appear was provided.

On May 13, Braulio Mesa, 41, of Beecher, was stopped for IVC violations. Further investigation determined Mesa had no valid driver’s license, as well as an active arrest warrant. Mesa was processed accordingly, and a notice-to-appear was provided.

On May 14, Deon Boyd, 43, of Chicago, was stopped for IVC violations. Further investigation determined Boyd had a valid arrest warrant. Boyd was processed accordingly and turned over to the Will County Adult Detention Facility.

On May 16, Justin Magruder, 24, of Beecher, was found to be in possession of a controlled substance after a domestic related family matter. Magruder was processed accordingly, and a notice-to-appear was provided.

MANHATTAN

On May 9, officers were dispatched to the area of Spring and Abbey for a motor vehicle accident involving injuries. Upon arrival, officers observed a pickup truck had left the roadway and crashed into a parked vehicle that was in a private driveway. The operator, Owen M. Crafton, 20, of Manhattan, had initially fled the scene but returned and advised officers he was the operator of the crashed truck. Officers detected an odor of alcohol coming from Owen’s breath and subsequently performed field sobriety tests. Owen was later placed into custody for DUI and issued citations for DUI over .08, zero tolerance, DUI, illegal transportation of alcoholic beverage, and failure to reduce speed to avoid accident.

On May 12, at 10:35 a.m., officers were in the area of West North and Manhattan Road when they observed a GMC with suspended registration. Officers stopped the GMC and spoke with the driver, Anthony D. Thompson, 46, of Chicago, and learned he had a suspended drivers license. He was issued citations for suspended drivers license, no insurance, and suspended registration.

On May 14, officers observed a white Chevy dump truck in the area of State and First in which the driver was not wearing a seat belt. Officers stopped the truck and spoke with Julio C. Sosa, 52, of Joliet. Officers learned Sosa did not have a valid driver’s license and issued citations for operation of uninsured motor vehicle, failure to wear seat belt, no drivers license, unsafe equipment, and no safety test.

On May 17, at 1:15 p.m., officers observed a Chevy Traverse in the area of Route 52 and Foxford with suspended registration. Officers stopped the vehicle and spoke with the driver, Jocelyn N. Ortiz, 22, of Kankakee. Officers observed a small, opened bag of green leafy substance and could smell burnt cannabis. Officers later discovered 14 grams of a white powdery substance (suspect cocaine) and 452 grams of a green leafy substance (suspect cannabis) Ortiz was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance, possession of cannabis with intent to deliver, uninsured motor vehicle, and suspended registration. She was processed, given a court date, and released.

MONEE

On May 4, Monee Police responded to a disturbance in the 25800 block of S. Sunset Drive. Further investigation resulted in the arrest of Nurbek Isaev, 31, of Evanston. Isaev was charged with battery then was released on a pre-trial notice-to-appear. 

On May 7, Monee Police conducted a traffic stop for a moving violation. Further investigation resulted in the arrest of Amari Ritchie, 26, of Dyer, Indiana. Ritchie was arrested for an active Will County warrant and was transported to the Will County Adult Detention Facility to be held pending a detention hearing.

On May 8, Monee Police conducted a traffic stop for a registration violation. Further investigation resulted in the arrest of Jose Bonilla-Flores, 31, of Chicago. Bonilla-Flores was charged with no valid driver’s license, was cited, and released on a pre-trial notice-to-appear. 

On May 10, Monee Police conducted a traffic stop for a moving violation. Further investigation resulted in the arrest of Crystal Hunter, 56, of Monee. Hunter was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and DUI >.08. Hunter was cited and released on a pre-trial notice-to-appear.

On May 14, Monee Police conducted a traffic stop for a registration violation. Further investigation resulted in the arrest of Lionel Mitchell, 57, of Robbins. Mitchell was charged with driving while license suspended, cited, and released on a pre-trial notice-to-appear.

On May 15, Monee Police conducted a traffic stop for a moving violation. Further investigation resulted in the arrest of Eduar Perez, 30, of University Park. Perez was charged with driving while license suspended, cited, and released on a pre-trial notice-to-appear. 

On May 16, Monee Police responded to a traffic crash in the 6600 block of W. Monee-Manhattan Road. Further investigation resulted in the arrest of Cristian Goings, 22, of Chicago. Goings was charged with no valid driver’s license, cited, and released on a pre-trial notice-to-appear.

On May 18, Monee Police responded to a disturbance in the 6000 block of W. Monee-Manhattan Road. Further investigation resulted in the arrest of Kia Williams, 27, of Chicago. Williams was arrested on a warrant issued by the Illinois State Police. Williams was transported to the Will County Adult Detention Facility to be held pending a detention hearing.

On May 19, Monee Police conducted a traffic stop for a registration violation. Further investigation resulted in the arrest of Cameron Edwards, 20, of Gary, Indiana. Edwards was charged with driving while license suspended, cited, and released on a pre-trial notice-to-appear.
