Lorraine M. Topor, a talented cook and gardener who served as president of St. Rita Grammar School Bowling League, died. She was 87.
She is survived by three children: Robert Topor, Marie Nechvatal and Laura Walan; one granddaughter, Jessica Glavach; one great-granddaughter, Genevieve; four step-grandchildren: Kylie, Emily, Paytyn and Ethan; her sister-in-law, Marie Mavrinac; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph C. Topor, and her siblings, Joseph Gliwa and Richard Gliwa.
Topor was known for her gardening, cooking and skill at creating dollhouse miniatures. She was a White Sox fan and enjoyed shopping at flea markets and garage sales.
Visitation will be held Thursday, April 23, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Foran Funeral Home, 7300 W. Archer Ave., Chicago.
Additional visitation will be held Friday, April 24, from 9 a.m. until prayers begin at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
A funeral Mass will be held Friday, April 24, at 11:45 a.m. at St. Rita of Cascia Shrine Chapel.
A procession will follow from the funeral home to the chapel. Ms. Topor will be laid to rest at Resurrection Cemetery beside her husband.
