Livier Marquez

Livier Marquez, a devoted mother of ten who immigrated from Mexico more than 60 years ago, died April 9, 2026, in Summit, Illinois. She was 95.

She is survived by ten children: Maria de los Angeles Gonzalez, Maria de Jesus Gonzalez, Ramiro Marquez, Enriqueta Faught, Imelda Gaughan, Delfia Mercedes Mondragon, Javier Guadalupe Marquez, David Marquez, Livier Berenice DeLira and Guadalupe F. Marquez; 27 grandchildren; and 42 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, José Guadalupe Marquez; her parents, Maria Muñoz Tostado and Francisco Pérez Marquez; and six siblings: Santos Pérez, Adelina Pérez, Damiana Pérez, Maria Dolores Pérez, Francisco Pérez and one other sibling.

Marquez was born Nov. 10, 1930, in Mexico. She was a parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi in Chicago and an active member of La Asociación Guadalupana. She was known for her faith, her generosity and her devotion to family.

Visitation will be held Sunday, April 13, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Foran Funeral Home in Summit, Illinois.

A funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, April 15, at 11 a.m. at St. Blase Church (Blessed Martyrs of Chimbote) in Summit, Illinois.

A procession will follow the Mass to Resurrection Cemetery, where Ms. Marquez will be laid to rest beside her husband.
