Manuel Jose Prado Sr., 78, died March 20, 2026.
He was born Dec. 20, 1947, in Lagos de Moreno, Jalisco, Mexico, and was a proud Army veteran.
Prado was the husband of Frances Prado.
Survivors include wife Frances; children Monica (Michael) Aguirre, Manny (Maria Magdalena) Prado Jr. and Michelle (Javier) Garcia; grandchildren Isabella, Leeliana and Franco; bonus grandchildren Mariah, Kamil and Eryk; sisters Mary (Jose Luis) Villarreal, Jessie (Eli) Campos, Alicia (late Rogelio) Borjas, Namecia Younan, Yolanda (Arthur) Anguiano and Grace (Jose) Villarreal; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by grandchildren Michael and Anthony Aguirre and parents Isabel and Maria Prado.
Prado was known for his warm smile, sense of humor, quiet strength and generosity. He was an active member of softball, pool and bowling teams throughout his life. He was a devoted family man who enjoyed watching Chicago White Sox games, playing dominoes and cards with family, and making his beloved egg omelets on Sunday mornings.
Visitation will be held Thursday, March 26, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Damar-Kaminski Funeral Home & Crematorium, 7861 S. 88th Ave., Justice.
Prayers and procession will begin Friday, March 27, at 10:30 a.m. from the funeral home to Saint Fabian Church, 7450 W. 83rd St., Bridgeview, for 11:30 a.m. Mass.
Burial will follow at Fairmount-Willow Hills Cemetery, Willow Springs.
