On July 18, a Peotone Police Officer met with a complainant at the Police Department who advised he was being harassed through social media, phone calls, and the subject threatening to show for a planned event to cause a disruption. The Peotone Officer completed a report at that time.
On July 23, a Peotone Officer met with the manager of Casey’s, in the 900 block of Wilmington-Peotone Road, who advised on July 19 a male Black subject entered the store and requested money be added to his cash card. At the completion of the transaction, approximately 10 minutes later, the subject exited the business. He entered his blue Volkswagen, with MI license plates 8QUJ59, he had parked at the pumps and left the facility. It was later discovered the transaction occurred under fraudulent actions. The officer completed an initial investigative report and turned the case over to the Peotone Investigations Division.
