Four drivers face aggravated speeding charges after separate traffic stops in Oak Lawn this month, according to police.
Kevin Avendano, 19, and Jamel F. Garrett, 18, both of Chicago, were charged with aggravated speeding and street racing after officers stopped them around 5:24 p.m. June 7 at 87th Street and South Menard Avenue. Police said both were clocked at 77 mph in a 35-mph zone. They are scheduled to appear in court July 2.
Khaled A. Alshaher, of Oak Lawn, was pulled over at 7:15 p.m. June 11 in the 9500 block of South McVicker Avenue and cited for driving 70 mph in a 30-mph zone, police said. He was also cited for driving without insurance and failing to carry a driver’s license. His court date is July 31.
Henry D. Fanelli, of Evergreen Park, was stopped around 1:43 a.m. June 11 in the 5700 block of West 95th Street. Police said he was driving 60 mph in a 30-mph zone and did not have a valid license, headlights or insurance. He is due in court July 2.
