On May 2, Peotone Police were dispatched to a reported traffic accident involving injuries at the intersection of S. Harlem Avenue and E. Main Street. Upon arrival, officers and EMS personnel provided immediate medical attention. Three individuals sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to Silver Cross Hospital. All involved vehicles were towed, and a crash report was completed.
On May 5, while on patrol, a Peotone Officer observed a silver Toyota traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of Drexler Road. The vehicle also exhibited erratic lane usage. A traffic stop was conducted, and the driver, Bills, 48, displayed signs of alcohol impairment. Standardized Field Sobriety Tests were administered, resulting in his arrest for Driving Under the Influence. Bills was transported to the Peotone Police Department for processing. He was issued citations for Driving Under the Influence, Improper Lane Usage, and Operation of Uninsured Motor Vehicle. The vehicle was towed, and Bills was released with a mandatory court appearance.
On May 8, Officers responded to a domestic disturbance call in the 500 block of Locust Lane. Upon arrival, officers spoke with both parties involved. The dispute was determined to be verbal in nature, and no signs of a physical altercation were observed. Both parties declined further police assistance. Domestic violence information and resources were provided, and officers cleared the scene without further incident.
On May 14, a resident reported receiving a Small Claims Summons from Discover Bank regarding an unpaid account they did not recognize. Upon contacting the bank, the complainant learned a fraudulent account had been opened in their name. Further review of their credit report revealed a vehicle had also been purchased using their personal information. An initial police report was completed, and the case was forwarded to Peotone Police Investigations for continued follow-up.
