On April 4, Peotone Officers responded to a report of a property damage accident at the intersection of W. Corning and S. Mill Avenues. Upon arrival, officers confirmed there were no injuries. All parties involved were interviewed, and a state crash report was completed.
On April 4, a Peotone Officer initiated a traffic stop on a blue Ford vehicle for not displaying a registration plate at Rt. 50 and North Street. A check of the driver’s license revealed the driver, Brooks (M/B, 33), had a suspended license and an active no-bond warrant out of Will County for traffic-related offenses. Brooks was taken into custody without incident, and the vehicle was towed. He was cited for driving while license suspended and improper display of registration, with a mandatory court appearance. Brooks was processed and transported to the Will County Adult Detention Facility.
On April 6, officers were dispatched to the 400 Block of S. Fourth Street, for a reported domestic dispute. On scene, officers spoke with two male residents involved in a verbal disagreement. No physical altercation occurred, and one individual waited for a ride to leave the premises. No further police assistance was required.
On April 6, Peotone Police and MFPD EMS responded to a residence in the 100 block of W. Corning Avenue, for a reported dog bite. The complainant stated she was bitten on the hands and foot while attempting to break up a fight between her dog and her mother’s dog. She was treated on scene for multiple puncture wounds and transported to a local hospital. Both dog owners were informed Will County Animal Control would be notified for follow-up.
On April 10, an officer responded to a hit-and-run involving property damage at the intersection of Rt. 50 and S. Drecksler Road. A black Ford F-150, with temporary registration, reportedly struck a stop sign and fled the scene, continuing northbound on Rt. 50. The driver was described as a white male, approximately 30 years old. Officers were unable to locate the suspected vehicle, but it has been identified and will be cited for failure to report the accident. IDOT was notified regarding the damaged traffic sign.
