A 23-year-old woman was arrested early March 2 after allegedly firing a gun to scare off a person threatening her in Chicago’s Chicago Lawn neighborhood, police said.
Cindy Leon, of the 1100 block of North Avers Avenue, was charged with reckless discharge of a firearm following the incident in the 6200 block of South Artesian Avenue.
Police responded to a report of shots fired at 5:56 a.m. and found Leon standing outside a red car. She allegedly told officers she had fired the shots to intimidate someone who was threatening to fight her, according to authorities.
No injuries were reported, and the investigation is ongoing.
