Peotone: On Wednesday, October 2, the Blue Devil Golf Team competed in the 2A Golf Regional at Green Garden. The team finished sixth out of nine teams, with a score of 373. Joe Hasse tied for 10th place among 54 players and earned a spot in the 2A Sectional on Monday, October 7, at Wedgewood Golf Course in Joliet.
Illinois Lutheran High School: The Chargers had a fantastic finish at their Regional contests this week at Lincoln Oaks Golf Course on Wednesday, October 2. Julia Karl took the first place medalist position, firing an impressive 87, which was 5 strokes better than her closest competitor. Julia will be playing in this year’s sectional tournament, at the El Paso Golf Club in El Paso, on Monday, October 7.
The boys’ team finished in sixth place overall out of 13 teams, and the Chargers top three players all have advanced to the sectional tournament at Turtle Run Golf Course in Danville.
Aiden Bozorov was the second individual advancing, Eli Potempa secured the fourth advancing position, while Nick Flaig won a three-man playoff to determine the 10th and last spot for individuals advancing to this year’s sectional tournament.
This is the first time the Chargers have had four players advance to the sectional tournament and the first time they ever have had a regional tournament champion. This was a spectacular year for the Illinois Lutheran Chargers Golf Teams.
