One man died and another was badly injured after an argument September 20 led to a shooting in Gage Park.
Chicago police said just before 8:15 p.m., a 42-year-old man and a 33-year-old man got into an argument when one of them pulled out a gun. A struggle for the gun then ensued, and both men were shot multiple times.
The men were taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center where the 42-year-old man died. The 33-year-old man remains at the hospital in critical condition.
No arrests have been made and Area One Detectives are investigating.
On September 22, a teen was injured in a shooting in the neighborhood, Chicago police said.
The 15-year-old boy was standing in the 5700 block of South Wolcott Avenue about 5:14 p.m. when a vehicle drove up, someone inside got out of the vehicle and then fired shots, police said. The teen was shot in the legs and taken to Comer Children’s Hospital in critical condition.
The shooters fled in the vehicle, heading east on West 57th Street, police said. No one is in custody. Police are investigating.
