A man was shot Tuesday afternoon in La Grange, according to a news release received Wednesday from the police department.
A suspect has been apprehended, the release said.
The shooting victim remains in stable condition at a local hospital, the release said.
La Grange Police, working with the Major Case Assistance Team, are conducting the investigation, the release said.
At approximately 2:15 p.m. Tuesday, police responded to the report of a man shot in the 100 block of Sawyer Avenue, the release said.
A person of interest was later located at a residence in the 4100 block of Wenonah Avenue in Stickney, the release said. That person initially refused to surrender to police, the release said.
After the Cook County Sheriff’s Police SWAT Team and several neighboring police departments were called in to assist, the suspect did exit the house and was taken into police custody, the release said.
