Second grader Weronika Kozielec squirts ketchup on the head of Our Lady of the Snows School Principal Christina Avis at a recent gathering in the parking lot of the school, 4810 S. Leamington. But the condiment was not all that was dumped on the principal. Students, faculty and staff laughed and cheered as mustard, chocolate syrup, whipped cream, sprinkles, popcorn, water, flour, “slime,” paint and even feathers rained down upon Avis. It was all in good fun and fulfillment of a pledge she made earlier this year: that the event would happen if the school met its goal of registering 105 students before early signup ended in February. Parents interested in exploring OLS as an option for the 2024-25 school year are encouraged to call the school office at (773) 735-4810. – Supplied photo
