Jan Bachleda-Kubanski, age 90, passed away March 11.

Beloved husband of Halina Pawlikowska and the late Helena Bachleda-Kubanska; loving father of Janina (Zbigniew) Galica, Halina (Jozef) Majerczyk, Jan (Anna) Bachleda-Kubanski and the late Andrzej Bachleda-Kubanski; father-in-law of Helena Garbacz; dear grandfather and great-grandfather of many; cherished son of the late Aniela (nee Bobak) and the late Jan Bachleda-Kubanski; fond brother of Janina (Jozef) Sobczak, Zofia (the late Jan) Krol, the late Antonina (the late Stanislaw) Rybka, the late Karolina (the late Andrzej) Jurkowski, the late Andrzej (Helena) Bachleda-Kubanski, the late Wladyslaw (the late Anna) Bachleda-Kubanski, the late Stanislaw (the late Helena) Bachleda-Kubanski and the late Mieczyslaw (Zofia) Bachleda-Kubanski. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

BermudezEVANGELINA BERMUDEZ

We celebrate the life of Evangelina Bermudez (nee Chavez) who passed away March 23.

She was the devoted wife for 46 years to the love of her life, Armando Bermudez Sr.; loving mother of Armando Bermudez Jr. and Manuel (Janet) Bermudez; dear sister of Celia (the late Andres) Luna and Martha Chavez. Evangelina will be missed by her many nieces and nephews. Evangelina had a gift for making people feel comfortable and welcomed. Exceptionally generous and giving, she had a unique way of making someone feel special. She was always concerned about every one’s well-being and guiding them with good advice. She loved her family deeply and cherished her friends. Evangelina loved to entertain and being a great cook, took much joy in cooking her delicious meals with friends. A woman of strong faith, who loved her family deeply. She epitomized the true meaning of a beautiful person. To know her was to love her. She will be deeply missed, always loved and forever remembered.

Visitation was held March 26 at Foran Funeral Home, 7300 W. Archer Ave. (55th street just west of Harlem). Visitation at the funeral home March 27 until time of Prayers. Procession from the funeral home to Mother of the Americas Church for a Mass of Christian Burial. Evangelina was laid to rest at Resurrection Cemetery.

GergitsLEO J. GERGITS, JR.

Leo J. Gergits, Jr. passed away peacefully at Advocate South Suburban Hospital in Hazel Crest. He was 63. Leo grew up in Justice, later living in Youngstown, Ohio and finally in Homewood.

He is survived by three sisters, Julia Gergits (James Schramer, Carl Florian and Joseph), Ruth Gergits and Mary Gergits and a brother Carl Gergits (Cheryl McCabe). He was preceded in death by his parents Mary Gergits and Leo J. Gergits Sr. Leo worked for Cornell Forge in Chicago and Fuller’s Service Center in Hinsdale. He loved cars, family, friends and his cat Hobo.

Memorial service and celebration of his life was held March 16 at Damar-Kaminski Funeral Home & Crematorium, 7861 S. 88th Avenue, Justice. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Heart Association would be appreciated. For more information, 708-496-0200 or www.kaminskifamilyfuneralhomes.com.

MundyTIMOTHY L. MUNDY

Timothy L. Mundy, age 60 of Summit, passed away unexpectedly March 27.

He was the beloved son of the late William and late Marianne (nee Simpson) Mundy; dear brother of William (Colleen) Mundy, Todd Mundy, and the late Edward and late Stephen Mundy; dearest uncle of Rebecca, Kaitlyn, David, Robert, Heather, James, Kali, Jacob, Lisa, Elizabeth, Kimberly and Amy.

Visitation was held April 1 at Foran Funeral Home, 7300 W. Archer Ave. (55th street just west of Harlem) followed by A Service in Celebration of Timothy’s life. He will be buried in Westfrankfort, next to his parents and brother.

Geraldine “Geri” Page (nee Strasser), 90, passed away on January 27, 2024.

She was the beloved wife of the late Vincent.  Loving mother of Susan, Janice, Thomas (Crystal) Page and Diane (Steven) Sembach.  Cherished grandmother of Lisa, Joe, Steve, Mike, Chris, Carolyn, Heather and Pat. Proud great-grandmother of Zoey, Chloe, Riley, Jase, Emma, Delaney, Charlie and Nolan.  Fond aunt of many nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Visitation will be held in Geri’s honor, Saturday, April 6, at Our Lady of the Woods Church, 10731 W. 131st Street, Orland Park, from 9 a.m. until time of Memorial Mass 10 a.m. Entombment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.

Patricia A. Pasderetz, age 67, passed away March 20 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Beloved daughter of the late Louis G. and the late Irma (nee Fiket) Pasderetz; loving sister of Louis N. and Anthony (Robin); dear aunt of Louis M. (Juli), James (Anna), Madeline Wilke and Anthony; great aunt of Megan, Joseph, Cole, Logan, Tucker, Nicholas, the late Louis C. and the late Ava; great great aunt of Alek.

Member of the Rhine Post V.F.W. #2729 Auxiliary. Patricia worked for many years as a baker at Jewel Food Store and also worked doing upholstery for custom cars.

Preceded in death by her parents, Andres and Guadalupe Reyes, her daughter in law Yeline Delgado Reyes and her brothers David and Bobby Reyes. Dear sister of Mary (Gergory) Galluzzo, Anita Murillo, Jessie Clearwater, Andrea Reyes, Theresa (Ed) McNamara, Gilbert Reyes, Lupe (Maggie) Reyes and Salvador (Rosie) Reyes.

Caring aunt and great aunt to many. Sabina was a devoted follower of Christ, may she rest in eternal peace.

Mary K. Wright, age 78, former longtime resident of Chicago, Bridgeport neighborhood, late of Garfield Ridge, passed away unexpectedly March 25.

She was the beloved wife of the late Arthur Wright; cherished daughter of the late William and late Edna Stuart; dear sister of the late Dorothy Swiatkowski and the late William (late Shirley) Stuart. Mary K. will be missed by her many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was a dedicated Girl Scout Troop Leader for 50 years and also a Council Member and Delegate for the Girl Scout organization.

Visitation was held March 30 at Foran Funeral Home, 7300 W. Archer Ave. (55th street just west of Harlem).
