On Thursday, December 28, in the second day of the Kankakee Holiday Tournament, the Peotone Blue Devils took a commanding 80-60 victory over the Momence Athletics. Leading from start to finish, Brandon Weiss tallied 28 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists, and 5 steals, Ruben Velasco added 26 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 assists, while Colin Emsweller finished with 14 points.
Then on Friday, December 29, the Blue Devils won the Consolation Bracket of the tournament, with another dominant victory, this time over Grant Park, 64-40. At the half, the Blue Devils led the Dragons 38-15.
Ruben Velasco put in another fabulous performance, including a double-double, scoring 30 points, along with 21 rebounds, and 5 steals. On the day, Brandon Weiss added 13 points, while Colin Emsweller finished with 11 points and 7 rebounds.
Peotone currently is 3-12 overall.
