With a light agenda on Aug. 2, the Bridgeview Village Board approved ordinances that dealt with zoning and economic development and also tweaked a meetings ordinance.
The board unanimously approved an ordinance granting a variation for a drive-thru stacking lane setback on the property at 7200 S. Harlem Ave.
The setback changes from 60 feet to 41 feet.
The board also unanimously approved renewal of a Class 6B assessment for property owned by Press Properties Ltd., at 7674 W. 79th St.
The board updated the village code regarding notification requirements for special meetings.
Special meetings may be called by the mayor or by any three trustees by written request or notice with the village clerk at least 72 hours prior.
At least 48 hours written notice shall specify the time and purpose of a special meeting, and should be delivered to each board member.
Mayor Steve Landek called it “a little housekeeping” and said the ordinance “updates village code to reflect the Illinois State Open Meetings Act.”
The appointment of an electrical inspector was tabled, per the request of Landek.
The village hosted a Patriots Picnic for seniors at the community center on Aug. 3.
Trustee Norma Pinion thanked the police, fire and public works departments for their assistance helping make National Night Out a success on Aug. 1.
“It was very successful. Thank you to everybody,” she said of the annual event held at the village hall.
