I did it – I lost all my winter weight! Now I just have spring rolls! Happy April Fool’s Day and spring to all.
The Archer Heights community will have something to look forward to. Our branch library is getting refurbished. The only downside is that the library will be closed from April 10 until mid-May.
In the interim, please visit the Garfield Ridge or West Lawn branches.
Family fun is this Saturday, April 1. Head on over to 6059 S. Archer for an Easter egg hunt, face painting, a petting zoo and more.
If you are a graduate of St. Richard School, there will be an alumni Mass this Monday, April 3. It’s at 8 a.m. at 5032 S. Kostner (10 a.m. until noon)
It is tax time again. I learned a lesson last year, if you recall. I printed and reprinted my forms as I was working on them and put the documents in my blue garbage can for recycling. Then we noticed that my blue garbage can disappeared.
I had to make sure my credit and personal information was safe using Lifelock and other services. We also bought a fancy shredder so no one can piece together our information.
If you have sensitive documents that need to be disposed of, visit Kennedy High School, 57th and Narragansett, on April 15. Thanks to 13th Ward Ald. Marty Quinn and State Rep. Angie Guerrero-Cuellar (D-22nd) there will be a paper shredding event at the school from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
As a young girl I remember my father and my uncles belonging to the Archbishop Weber 4th degree Knights of Columbus, the largest Catholic fraternity. It stands out in my memory for the fun stuff like picnics and Christmas parties. Their headquarters, if I recall, was on 48th and Pulaski.
