Kyuan Murry
A Chicago man has been charged by Palos Heights police for stealing a purse from a victim in the CVS parking lot on February 4.
According to police, Kyuan Murry, 24, was wearing a mask when he approached the victim in the parking lot and ripped her purse from her hands. The incident happened about 4:48 p.m.
The suspect’s vehicle was captured by surveillance cameras approaching and leaving the CVS lot. The victim’s credit cards were observed to be used at multiple locations in the city in the hour after the robbery.
Video captured at these locations identified the same suspect using the victim’s credit cards as the man who committed the robbery.
He was identified by distinct tattoos and his vehicle by its markings.
A Palos Heights police officer recognized the suspect vehicle as one they had completed a traffic stop on minutes prior to the robbery. The driver of the vehicle was identified during the stop and later found to be the robbery offender.
Murry was located at his residence in Chicago on Monday, February 13, and taken into custody without incident. The case was presented to the Cook County State’s Attorney’s office and felony charges were approved.
He was taken to the Bridgeview Courthouse and ordered held without bond.
His next scheduled court date is March 16 at the Bridgeview Courthouse.
