Lawrence T. “Larry” Fleischman, 72, of Kankakee, passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn. Born December 11, 1950, in Kankakee, he was the son of Hubert and Mary (Donoghue) Fleischman.

Larry, a proud veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Vietnam Conflict, owned and operated Fleischman Roofing and Siding. He was a member of the Aroma Park American Legion and a past member of Vicinity Van Club. Larry enjoyed watching football and NASCAR, surrounded by his friends. He frequently supported local charitable organizations and fundraisers. Larry was of the Catholic faith.

Surviving are four sisters, Mary (Jim) Roy of Bourbonnais, Patricia Hedrick of Bourbonnais, Christine (Richard) lemole of Shorewood, and Theresa Barnes of Bourbonnais; nieces and nephews, Jeffrey (Kristi) Roy, Jimmy (Amanda) Roy, Brenda (Scott) McLean, Gabrielle Barnes, and Nicholas Barnes; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and dear friend, Destiny Britt and her children. Larry was preceded in death by his parents.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service was held on January 9, at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home in Bourbonnais, with Deacon Patrick Skelly officiating. Inurnment, with military rites, followed at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood.
